Conference Registration
Please register presentations or for general attendance. As the conference will be held online, we will not be accepting applications by postcard or fax. Thank you for your understanding.
Participation Fee
Conference fee: General members: 1,000 yen, Japanese non-members: 2,000 yen. Student members and Overseas entomologists: Free
Registration deadlines: (1) Abstracts due by Nov. 6; (2) Registration by Nov. 20.
After confirmation of your registration, we will be able to provide you with a ZOOM meeting ID. Applications for subcommittees should also be received by November 6.
Identification Meeting
For the first time, we will have an online identification meeting. If you would like to have a specimen identified, please prepare a photo or drawing and share it on ZOOM. Experts from the society will be available to give advice on identification. Until now, it has been a one-to-one correspondence between the expert and the person to be identified, but we hope that the identification process will be seen by many people and that a lot of information will be shared. We ask that you use your own judgment when presenting items that require confidentiality.
Applications for Research Presentations
Members who wish to do an oral research presentation during the conference should follow the instructions on the website and complete the conference registration and submit abstracts by November 6. Due to the process for preparation of abstracts, we ask that the deadline be strictly observed.
A separate manual will be prepared for presentations shared using ZOOM. To ensure smooth operation of the conference, please make sure to check how to use ZOOM and the telegraphic status of your presentation during the preview on the previous day, December 3 (pm 1 to 11). The content of your presentation will be transmitted to the participants of the previous conference through ZOOM. The conference secretariat does not permit filming or recording of presentations, but it is impossible for the secretariat to regulate presentations that include content that may require confidentiality. Please decide the content of your presentation at your own risk.
Section meetings
The section room organizer will prepare ZOOM IDs for the room and each participant. The organizer should also manage the meeting on the day (start and end of the meeting). Please send the invitation link and passcode to the conference secretariat email address (coleoptera.jpn2021@gmail.com) as soon as the meeting schedule for the day's breakout sessions is prepared. Please note that although you can create a Zoom meeting with a free account, the maximum duration is limited to 40 minutes, so we recommend that you create a paid account or a corporate account. If you are applying for a presentation in a section meeting, please fill such information at the bottom of the Presentation Entry Form.
For details, please send an e-mail to the secretariat by November 6 to apply to hold a section meeting.
Please apply for participation in the conference, section meetings, and research presentations according to the above procedures.
